Procedure

Prepare phase B, separately heating the water to 75–80°C and the lipophilic components to 70–75°C. Add the lipids to the water and homogenize using a suitable dispersion unit (e.g. Silverson, Ultra Turrax). Cool phase B using a water bath while stirring. Prepare phase A and disperse the thickeners using a suitable dispersion unit. Add phase A to phase B and homogenize using a suitable dispersion unit. Add phase C, D, E, F and G one by one and homogenize.

Properties

PROPERTIES (25°C): Appearance—Light blue soft serum; Viscosity— 1,500–3,500 mPa∙s (10 rpm, Brk, RVDV, T-B after 24 hours at room temperature); pH—6.5–7.0.
